As an ongoing recruitment effort, Trafalgar Birdhaven is in search of a dynamic candidate with a passion for the property industry to join our team as a Commercial Insurance Broker / Account Executive. 

To drive new business acquisition and revenue growth by sourcing, developing, and closing insurance opportunities within the Property sector, nationally. The role focuses on building strong relationships with trustees, managing agents, and property managers to deliver tailored insurance solutions that meet the unique needs of residential complexes, sectional title schemes, and homeowners’ associations, and also expanding our commercial and personalised footprint. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and secure new business opportunities within the community scheme sector.
  • Extending our footprint by growing our personal and commercial portfolio through our existing property foundation. (through Trafalgar Property and existing relationships within TFS )
  • Building relationship with internal and external insurance partners and stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with trustees, managing agents, and property managers.
  • Conduct needs analysis, record of advice and present tailored insurance solutions.
  • Deliver persuasive proposals and close deals effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of external insurance sales broking experience.
  • Proven track record in Property, Commercial and Personal lines insurance sales.
  • RE5 certification (Regulatory Exam for Representatives).
  • NQF Level 4 qualification in Short-Term Insurance or equivalent.
  • Experience working with community schemes or property-related insurance is highly advantageous.
  • Any Tertiary supporting qualification would be preferred.
  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a hunter mindset and ability to work independently.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
